We’d like to ask you to pray as consistently as you can in the next week. We leave for Costa Rica in a few hours to talk to and mentor missionaries learning Spanish. They are mostly first-termers and have been there long enough to be experiencing culture shock, some of them pretty significantly. This will be their spiritual emphasis week for the spring.
Please pray that the Holy Spirit would be at work in their hearts and minds to prepare them for a week of refreshment. Please pray for us as we continue our preparations. We share nine talks between us between next Monday and Friday, a heavy load for us. We will also do mentoring in between sessions. Pray that we would be clear and that our Father would help us to see what it is he would have us to say and that we would have stamina. Abby will be staying here in Dublin to study and do Model United Nations. She has a big birthday on Saturday!!
Other news:
No news on immigration. The Evangelical Alliance had asked the Dept. of Justice to expedite our application. That was over a month ago.
Cindy’s time in the Czech Republic and our time in Colerain seemed to go well. People seemed really blessed by the good news of the gospel for their lives.
Ministry focus. I’m pursuing some new possibilities for workers here in the Republic involving outreach. Pray that I would be wise and listen well to what churches need.
Family. Continue to pray for studies for Abby and Elizabeth. They both have state run exams this year. Abby must soon decide on her college. Emily is trying to get a placement in the Arabic world to improve her language skills. Rachel is taking time after her graduation in December and is waiting for further direction.
And please pray for our preparations for our year of home ministry assignment coming up in August.
Thanks so much,
Joel for us all
