Questions

1. How do you see Paul modeling friendship? Why does he do what he does?

2. Compare how Paul would have dealt with disappointment (in people), fear (of circumstances), criticism (from others) and friction (in relationships) before he met Christ and how he dealt with those things after meeting Christ.

3. How is Paul affected by the spiritual ups and downs of the Corinthians? Are you affected by your friends and their struggles? If so what does that look like and how do you maintain real hope?

4. Read John 15:9-17. Jesus models friendship for us there. How does the depth of Christ's love for you impact the way you love others? Respond to this statement: "You can only love to the extent to which you have been loved."

5. Where do you go for comfort? Joy? Where did Paul go?

6. Reflect on the last year and ask God to show you the ways he has loved you through the relationships in your lives.
