Artist Bio

Jen Lepkowski was born in upstate New York, where milk came directly from the cows and evening walks with the family's sheep Chico and goat Willy were regular events. Her artistic abilities were apparent at an early age and she received various awards for drawing and painting. She moved to Georgia as a teen and attended college at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta. While obtaining an engineering degree she was first introduced to the art of photography. She dabbled in photography for many years as a hobby and then, realizing it was her true passion and calling, she returned to school at Santa Monica College, to pursue a degree in photography. Santa Monica College consistently ranks as one of the Top Photography Schools in the Nation.

Jen's fine art photography infuses her artistic vision and her technical expertise. Her love for the environment and natural beauty is revealed in her fine art work, creating inspiring and dramatic landscapes, elegant, innovative nudes and bringing surprising beauty to dilapidated old buildings.

Jen’s work has also been showcased at La Foto Gallery in Santa Monica, CA, The Gallery at the Creative Center for Photography in Los Angeles, CA, The Asheville Area Arts Council in Asheville, NC, The Grace Center Gallery, Franklin, NC, North Carolina Stage Company, URTV in Asheville, NC and she was chosen to be the featured artist at Cox, Castle, and Nicholson, LLP in Culver City, CA, where over one hundred of her fine art prints are now on permanent display in their fine art collection.

Recent accomplishments include being awarded 3rd place in the National Juried Exhibition, “Boundaries”, being selected as a Regional Artist Project Grant and being voted one of the best visual artists in Western North Carolina by the Mountain Xpress. Jen is also one of just seven photographers in the country selected to study under the world-renowned fine art photographer, Rod Dresser, in San Juan Islands, Washington this August.
